– Driving magic carpet
– Excellent timeless design by Flaminio Bertoni
– Won the 3rd prize in Car of the Century award

“Must-See original interior”

This vehicle was imported to Japan by Watanabe Jidosha in Nagoya, and it has been maintained thoroughly.

Another factory took over the maintenance job later, but the car had been maintained for a long time by the Citroen specialist. A previous owner requested the factory to maintain the vehicle well, so he could drive at any time and he also had the factory keep the vehicle inside their garage. As a result, the engine, a heart of the machine, and hydraulic system have no existing problem.

Everything except the exterior; repainted in metallic blue, remains in the same condition as the original.

Its spaceship-like styling is absolutely appealing even at today’s standards. Anywhere you ride, it will bring attentions even when it is next to the lineup of super cars.

The most appealing part of the vehicle is velour seats. The interior is entirely upholstered by velour, texture of which is indescribably comfortable. Your body will snug into the seat and with the contribution of hydro- pneumatic system, you will never bother to get up from it after the vehicle starts to running.

The original Clarion audio is remained, and there is an analog clock made by Kienzle’s at the center consol.

Initially, the wipers did not have a speed adjuster, but it was added later.

There is a gear shift lever on the steering column. It actually used to be clutchless two-pedal semi-automatic vehicle: cranking a starter by turning the shifter all the way to left; sliding the lever of shifter to change gear. A foot brake was utilized as a parking brake and it has a brake-button, operated by a foot, instead of a paddle.

It is a very surprising fact that the design and the system like this was adopted as early as 1950’s.

Front and rear spare window glasses are available as an accessory.

The car is in the condition that you cannot deny the amount of time that lapsed of time, but you can certainly keep the present condition to enjoy the ride.

It is up to you to give a makeover or restoration to the vehicle as you desire. If you decide on either of those, please do not hesitate to contact us.

“History of Citroen DS21”

The words “Innovation of passenger car” is the best way to describe Citroen DS series born in 1955.
Great aerodynamics, excellent handling, absolute comfort, and substantial safety were elements of a passenger car in present, and we must say that those were achieved by the series.

The most famous equipment among the others was a suspension system called hydro-pneumatic, which manages both handling and comfort of the ride. The system is patented by Citroen and utilized by Rolls Royce.

The self-leveling system will automatically adjust the height of the vehicle higher for driving after running on the engine.
During the drive, the combination of hydraulic suspension which absorbs the shock and the comfort of snuggly cushion justifies the term “magic carpet” to describe the riding comfort.

Considering the size and the equipment, the weight of vehicle is extremely light, 1280kg. 2175cc engine that produces 101HP guarantees the perfect acceleration.

Design by Flaminio Bertoni of Citroen. This style will never go out of date even in 21st century.
The unique shape of the vehicle was never changed during a long manufacturing period. The rear indicator is very unique that it is located at the corner of rear glass.

The interior has very tasteful style to it. Instead of using leather for the seats, they are stuffed with enough cushioning so it feels like a soft couch with velour.

It is the long-seller model that produced 1,455,746 cars between 1955 to 1975.
